Thoughts of a Flowertot…Fiji – Bounty & Barefoot Part 2 (with Compact Camera Snaps)

(Part of a series of articles by Fi trawling the archives for photos taken on the tiny compact camera way back when).

Despite virtually non-existent internet access we managed to arrange to meet up with Julie & Colin our friends from the Australian East coast trip and after a jolly reunion in Nadi, scooted off on the next available boat back out to the Yasawas. First stop was the ex ‘celebrity love island’ – Bounty Island where we met the lovely Eduard and Marina, a Spanish couple following a similar route to our own but in reverse. After jellyfish stings, a dodgy ‘happy hour’ and a dorm rave we jumped on the morning boat north to Drawaqa.  We were greeted by glorious sunshine and met an awesome bunch of people, fellow Yorkshire folk Lucy and Peter and Canadians Christine and Liam – a budding jeweller who created a fetching pendant for Colin 😛 The next 3 days were filled lazing on the beach, exploring the underwater world and sampling lots and lots of rum. A fabulous way to spend our last days in Fiji!
